TOUR ITINERARY DAY 1 - ARRIVE AUCKLAND On arrival in Auckland, the ‘City of Sails’, you will be met by a Kiwiway representative and assisted at the airport either meeting your driver for your private tour option or collecting your rental car for the self drive option. Transfer to your accommodation. DAY 2 - AUCKLAND – BAY OF ISLANDS Drive north today along the east coast of the North Island to arrive in Paihia, the Bay of Islands. This afternoon is at your leisure to explore Paihia, Russell and Waitangi (a guided tour of the Waitangi Treaty Grounds is included). Russell and Paihia are a short 15 minute ferry ride from each other and both are easily accessible. DAY 3 - BAY OF ISLANDS Included today is a Hole in the Rock and dolphin viewing cruise. You might also like to take a sailing experience to enjoy the marvellous inlets, islands and beaches in this beautiful region. Or take an afternoon sightseeing tour to local Kerikeri, well-known for its local produce and arts and crafts (optional tours are not included in the tour price). DAY 4 - BAY OF ISLANDS - AUCKLAND Today return south by the west coast of Northland and visit the magnificent kauri forests and marvel at their size and age! Return to Auckland for the night. DAY 5 - AUCKLAND - TAUPO Today’s journey to Taupo is only a short 3 hour transfer, so take the morning to relax and enjoy Auckland city. Continue south to the lakeside town of Taupo. DAY 6 - TAUPO Enjoy the morning today exploring Lake Taupo – visit Huka Falls for a photo opportunity. Perhaps take a jetboat ride up to Huka Falls or a helicopter ride to view the falls for a different perspective on this amazing natural waterfall! (optional tours are not included in the tour price). Continue to Rotorua this afternoon. DAY 7 - TAUPO - ROTORUA Today enjoy a sightseeing tour of Rotorua including Te Puia Thermal Reserve, Agrodome Sheep Show and Rainbow Springs Nature Park. DAY 8 - ROTORUA -QUEENSTOWN Transfer to Rotorua Airport today and take a flight to Queenstown (flight not included). On arrival in Queenstown, either collect a new rental car (Self Drive) or you will be met by your South Island driver (Private Tour). DAY 9 - QUEENSTOWN Two free days to relax or explore the ‘alpine resort ‘ of Queenstown. Optional activities include jetboating, golf, wine tasting, a day tour to Milford Sound, local flightseeing. Optional activities not included in tour cost. DAY 10 - QUEENSTOWN Today is at leisure in Queenstown. DAY 11 - QUEENSTOWN - GLACIER REGION Depart Queenstown and travel past Lake Wanaka and through the historic Haast pass to reach the rugged West Coast. Continue north to arrive in the glacier region. DAY 12 - GLACIER REGION Today is at leisure to relax or explore the glacier region. Optional activities include glacier walks or flightseeing over the glaciers and majestic Southern Alps. Optional activities not included in tour cost. DAY 13 - GLACIER REGION - CHRISTCHURCH Farewell the glaciers and continue north along the West Coast to Greymouth. Your journey continues east through the Arthur’s Pass to reach the fertile Canterbury Plains and the ‘garden city’ of Christchurch. DAY 14 - DEPART CHRISTCHURCH Your arrangements conclude today with a departure transfer or the rental of your rental car to the airport. We trust you enjoyed your Vacation!
